Honeysuckle, the tangled vine of sweet smelling youth. I remember summers spent picking these delicious flowers with my sister. We sat at a picnic table and pulled each stigma through the flower, trying to collect each drop of nectar, like little busy bees. We never got enough to amount to anything, but what a memory! Honeysuckle is one of the headiest scents of the Southern summers.
Not consequently, the honeysuckle flower essence is related to nostalgia. What a delicious word. The essence helps partakers to integrate the past with the present. The picture of the person who needs honeysuckle might look like this:
- Someone who is only joyful when relating anecdotes about the ‘glory days’, or their childhood
- Children who are homesick quickly, or for long periods of time (this does not exclude adults though!)
- People who are stuck living in the past, while not being able to enjoy the present
- Someone who has experienced a loss, and now has trouble opening to new relationships, romantic or otherwise
And here’s your take away! Print these for your own use as reminder cards, or tape them to your essence bottles as labels.
